# Metakaolin

**Metakaolin** is a material shaped from a natural raw-material Kaolin by calcination at above 500°C. It is a transition metastable phase.

On the contrary to the mineral kaolin, the Metakaolin shows a very little expressive crystal structure similar to Kaolin – it has more or less amorphous character. At the same time a partial consolidation caused by dehydration of the original material shows up.

## Product Range Metakaolin 

- **MetaCem 85C** Is thermally structured, ultrafine Pozzolan which can replace industrial by-products such as fumed silica or Microsilica.
- **Argicem** A type II of pozzolanic addition to concretes and mortars.
- **Geoflash-S** has been optimized for the cold preparation of geopolymers and for use in alkali-activated mixtures.
- **temPozz® M86 + M88** is produced from a purified and concentrated kaolin by calcination. When used in geopolymers, both products are known for a very long open time and maintain good rheology with exceptionally high filler addition, while achieving extremely high mechanical strength.
- **temPozz® C90** is produced from a homogenizing and reproducible mixture of different raw kaolins by calcination. temPozz® C90 give a particularly high mechanical strength.
