Titanium dioxide (TiO₂) is a white pigment. Due to its optimal opacity (hiding power), whiteness, and brightness, as well as its high refractive index, it is widely used as a pigment in a wide range of industrial applications, such as paints and coatings, plastics, and rubber. Furthermore, thanks to its reflective properties, this pigment can both scatter and absorb UV rays.
